Eliza Jane has suffered a train robbery and an assault to get to the man who offered her marriage by mail. Only, Jake claims he not only does not want her but he did not send for her in the first place.

The problem is she's got a stack full of love letters and an offer of marriage written by him and he can't deny he wrote them. But, he still doesn't want her because he claims he wrote the letters to someone else. She thinks he's got cold feet and there is no way she is going back to town as 'The Unwanted Mail Order Bride'.
