In Desert JEOPARDY, three young Muslim men rendezvous in the southern Utah desert to deliver a powerful and lethal message of Jihadist terror. They plan to destroy an Amtrak California Zephyr passenger train by bringing it down from its trestle spanning the wide, deep Price River gorge. Their leader, Reza Siddiqui, is a recent Engineering graduate of Chicago's prestigious Northwestern University. As he drives west from Chicago, he plans to meet his younger brother, Salim, and a younger cousin, Amin, in Price City, in southern Utah, where the trio will purchase their lethal equipment and travel to the demolition site.
The two Pakistani travelers land in Mexico City and then travel north by bus on an adventurous trip through the Mexican heartland. At a remote border town, Agua Prieta, they sneak across the border into the scorching southern Arizona desert, eventually arriving in Tucson, Arizona. Taking a series of buses and an Amtrak train on a circuitous voyage, they finally arrive in Price City.
However...fate intervenes on Amtrak, as Union Pacific freight-train brakeman, Michael Purdom, dead- heading home from San Francisco to Denver, accidentally overhears the two men making suspicious cell phone calls in Pakistani Urdu, a language he picked up when serving as a special-ops Marine in the mid-east. With his keen ear, he overhears vital information being passed that encourages him to follow the men off the train in Price City. Maintaining his surveillance, he is soon able to confirm their purchase of lethally explosive materials, after which he notifies law enforcement agencies.
What can be done to abort this atrocity? Will interception by the former special-ops veteran, the FBI, and local Sheriff be enough to thwart the terrorists plan? Will law enforcement, with all its weight and resources, be powerless to intercede? Learn how split-second timing will be needed to save the passenger train and hundreds of innocent lives from being lost. Kevin Brey delivers another powerful message of how Jihadists openly work to harm us and disrupt our way of life.
Then, in Desert VENGEANCE, learn how terrorists try to levy get-even fatwas against Purdom and the Union Pacific RR, as Part 2 of DESERT ACTION moves across the southern US desert.
