A fresh 23,000-word manuscript that sums up the second Half of 2014. You need to know what may be coming up so that you can plan your major initiations for the second half of 2014. Just because this year has been a tough one for many (and possibly for you), don’t write off the entire year—there’s lots of exciting news to look forward to in the second six months—especially in July and August.
In every sense, 2014 officially begins in July. This year we have had a parade of retrograde “personal†planets—namely Venus, Mercury, and Mars—that went retrograde. These planets spin close to earth, so we feel their influence strongly on a day-to-day basis. A planet in retrograde is often ineffective, and without that planet's help, we are left to our own devices, working double time to try to create progress. The odd thing was, once one planet regulated its orb, the next one settled down for a nap. Couldn’t these planets all have scheduled their retrogrades in one or two months so we would have been done with this agonizingly slow pace to the year? It seemed not to be. The past six months of these retrogrades left us all feeling like we were walking through glue. I bet you found it hard to make substantial progress, and if you did manage to do so, you did so against all odds, showing plenty of grit. Now the scene brightens.
In July, a new day will dawn. There will be no more retrograde personal planets. (To be accurate Mercury will retrograde throughout October, but compared to what we all have endured, those three little weeks in October will seem like a piece of cake.)
The biggest excitement will come when Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, will move into fiery, warmhearted Leo on July 16, to stay nearly thirteen months. Jupiter’s not visited Leo since mid-2002 to mid-2003, so the influence will feel brand new.
Saturn will change signs too, when it enters fire-sign Sagittarius on December 23, 2014, to stay until June 14, 2015. In mid-June 2015, Saturn will revisit Scorpio for a few months until September 17, 2015, and then return to Sagittarius for a good, long two-year visit. Because Jupiter and Saturn are planets that provide form, structure, and the basic themes that we work on intently over a full year (Jupiter) or two years (Saturn), this radical shift of signs will have a major uplifting effect on all of us. Clearly, new opportunities will arise, and old, stubborn conditions that may have seemed impossible to change will suddenly show fluidity that may surprise you.
