by Jacob und Wilhelm Grimm (Brüder Grimm, Grimm Brothers)

Kinder- und Hausmärchen (Household Tales) by the Brothers Grimm (Die Brüder Grimm) include such classics as Cinderella (Aschenputtel), The Frog Prince (Der Froschkönig), Hansel and Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin (Rumpelstilzchen), and Snow White (Schneewittchen) and many more. The tales captured the imagination of generations and became subject to countless re-tellings.
The book comes in two editions.
The first edition comes in 10 volumes, each volume having 20 tales and their translations. Since Volume 8 is shorter than other, it also contains 10 children's legends.

About the Authors
The Brothers Grimm (or Die Brüder Grimm), Jacob (January 4, 1785– September 20, 1863) and Wilhelm Grimm (February 24, 1786–December 16, 1859), were German academics, linguists, cultural researchers, lexicographers and authors who together collected and published folklore.
They are among the best-known storytellers of folk tales, popularizing stories such as Cinderella (Aschenputtel), The Frog Prince (Der Froschkönig), Hansel and Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin (Rumpelstilzchen), and Snow White (Schneewittchen). Their first collection of folk tales, Children's and Household Tales (Kinder- und Hausmärchen), was published in 1812.
In addition to writing and modifying folk tales, the brothers wrote collections of well-respected German and Scandinavian mythologies.
