This includes two versions of the Epic of Gilgamesh. The first was translated by Morris Jastrow and Albert Clay in 1920. It is the translation of two tablets, known as the Pennsylvania Tablet and the Yale Tablet.
The Epic of Gilgamesh was written in the Babylonian language on clay tablets and is considered to be one the earliest known written documents. Some scholars estimate the age of this version (The Standard Babylonian version) to be in the range of the 13th century B.C.
Also included is the full version as documented by R. Campbell Thompson. This version is a compilation of twelve tablets with over 19,000 words of transcribed text. Thompson compiled his version from a number of sources in 1928 and has been edited grammatically for easier readability.
This version is optimized for Kindle devices including Kindle, Kindle Fire, Kindle Paperwhite, iPad and iPhone.
