Description

By Mid 1983 Britain had two breakfast TV shows, and one green goddess, the world had the Compact Disc, and Thatchers strangler hold on the UK was as strong as ever, not that any of this concerned Fourteen year old Michael, no all he cared about was sleeping in late on the weekends, and playing Football.

All this was to change however when the offer of a three month working holiday in Pakistan was put to him by his Dad, a plumber, who was working out there. At first Michael was unsure, what would he do out there? Then Dad explained Michael would have to miss at least a month of schooling, this sealed the deal, so after dad fought and won a heated debate with Micheal's headmaster, Michael was on his way, minus his beloved Green body warmer, which dad said he wouldn't need in a country that was on average 100 degrees in the shade.

So Michael left his comfy (lower) Middle class house in Essex, for the wilds of the middle east, where he would find, poverty, beaches, a job! And love, well a fumble in a closet that counted as 3rd Base, and much much more.

He would come back a changed boy, sorry young man, but would it be for the better?
