As with other books in this series it explains the detailed planning for war by the United Kingdom in the period 1935 - 1940. It completely debunks the idea of a Britian unprepared for war. The detail of the book, and the detail of the planning is extraordinary.
In reading these books on Britians economic mobilization for war you get the sensation that 'the Real War' was one of factories, organisation, labour, control of raw materials and that the actual 'fighting' was incidental to that.
