Looking back over history, there are two types of bodyguard – traditional and modern. Traditional bodyguarding required no great skill. The old type of bodyguard was simply a catcher – the mug who stood in the way of the stone, spear, arrow or, more recently, bullet. His job required plenty of brawn and little of brain.
