Description

Dr. Eugene Poulos is a young genetics whiz on the corporate fast track. When he stumbles across a secret group with the key to immortality among other advanced technologies, he quickly finds himself alienated from his family and friends, on the run from the police, wanted by the FBI, and worst of all hunted by a group of people who see and hear farther, think and move faster, never sleep, live forever, and who will stop at nothing to maintain the privileged secrecy of their existence.

"GENETIKA: Gene, book i" is the debut novel in the contemporary “Gene” branch of the science fiction thriller series Genetika that deals with biotechnology, cloning, immortality, and the secret ongoing struggle for power and technology that is happening all around us.

Enter the world of Genetika. The 1% of the 1% who live among us. They look like us. They act like us. But they are not like us. They see and hear farther. They think and move faster. They never sleep. They live forever. And they will stop at nothing to maintain the privileged secrecy of their existence.

"I can hear every joint in your body, Gene," she said, her smile kinder now. "Every muscle movement, the flow of the blood in each and every vein. I can anticipate—" Gene made an abrupt move to his left, and again Alexy mirrored him precisely. "—every physical move you make," she finished with a smirk.
Gene eased back slowly, readying himself. Without warning he launched into a series of quick, precise maneuvers, techniques far beyond the elementary Tai Chi and Kung Fu he usually practiced. His body was steady again, centered, and he spared no movement, utilizing the roominess of the lab floor. He executed each move with the skill of an expert, a master of cross disciplinary martial arts. It was all a display of only a sliver of the wide set of skills he had acquired over the last few days.
