Description

Create something

You are staring at a blank screen. The cursor blinks. And blinks. And blinks.

Your urge is to create something. The tools you need is a text editor. But which one should you chose.

Among the cacophony, the vim text editor becomes a prevalent choice. You download it and, either through the terminal program, TTY, or an icon, you run vim. At first glance, it is a weird creation. You have written down that to get help you type

:h[ENTER] and it still seems like a weird creation. A voice of doubt, of dissension, starts to creep in and says "Don't nobody got time for that mess!" If you are like me, you promptly close the vim text editor and forget the urge to create.

What is this?

This is not a copy and paste job. This is me having typed

:h operator[ENTER] and taken note of what is there, what I am going to remember, and what can be learned at a later time. Enjoy!
