In 2015 America split into two independent countries, the LSA (Liberal States of America) and the USA (United States of America) The LSA built a wall between the two so they could keep the "bad influence" of the USA out of the LSA. Twelve years after the split and with almost no information exchanged between the two countries two widely different television broadcasters decide to team up to produce a television special. The show selected one family from the LSA and one from the USA. Both are as close in age and income as possible, both have two children.
