Alex Runner sits in a makeshift jail cell. He is locked up in the belly of the Erebus, the first spaceship to ever travel the deep reaches of space. The Erebus was his design, and the mission was his. Now the ship has been sabotaged, and the mission in jeopardy, all because of what he did.

Alex’s life has led to this point in time. He thinks back on the life he had, and how it took him from a golden child to the most hated person on this ship.

The Erebus’ journey has revealed something powerful and amazing. It is a secret known only by a few. learning it changed Alex’s life.

While others are fighting to maintain this secret, Alex fights for something else.
