Description

He arrives on his screaming machine, but it’s his body that ends up screaming for more – of her

Jessica Mallet is about to leave her florist’s when Eric Burns’ bike trundles into her parking lot with every intention of parking there all night.

When Eric takes a flaming rose and hands it to Jessica, it's enough to make her forget her responsibilities, enough to forget where she is and what's appropriate.

The thorns prick her goose bumped skin but that’s nothing compared to what her body aches for--that moment when Eric removes petal after petal and lets the real flower inside her blossom…

EXCERPT

“We can’t,” she whispered.

He could’ve sworn he heard remorse in that statement. They definitely shouldn’t, but can’t? Oh no, they could. And they would, if he had any say in it. He looked around them. Granted, the situation wasn’t ideal but he’d had worse. The parking lot was fairly secluded. You couldn’t see the actual lot where they were unless you drove in the driveway. Driving down Main Street, you wouldn’t even know they were back there. His mind ticked to a couple places he knew that were fairly close by, but nothing that was within walking distance and he knew that she would frighten off the minute he suggested going anywhere else. The fact that she was even still standing here meant the little minx had a sexual side, hidden by the innocent demeanor.

He looked down on her upturned face. Her little red tongue swiped out to lick her lips, in what was either the most suggestive gesture ever or a purely innocent nervous action. He didn’t care. He made his decision instantly. He let his mouth drop the remaining inches until his lips were pressed against hers.

The desire flooded through him unchecked. Her mouth was soft and pliant, sweeter than he had even imagined. He brushed his mouth over hers, extending the one kiss into several. Her hand stole up to his bicep and he fought the primitive urge not to flex beneath her warm grasp. His wrapped his arm around her waist, squeezing her up against him in the need to feel all of her. Any minute now she was going to come to her senses, slap him, and walk away. But until then, he was taking every advantage.

Oh my God, Oh my God, Oh my God seemed to play in repeated cycles in her head. His mouth was moving over hers in a way that Jack’s or anyone’s never had. Every time he started a new kiss it was better than the last until she had to anchor one hand on his arm and the other on her purse to keep her errant fingers from touching every part of his unyielding body. She felt his hand steal around her waist and leaned in even farther. She wanted the imprint of her body on his. She wanted to make her mark on him – on his body and his soul.
