Kresimer Cosic: One Man's Spiritual Journey: Sports Legend and a Nation's Hero

The name Kresimir Cosic is known around the world. Heralded as one of the greatest basketball players in all of Europe, he was the first significant international player to play college basketball in the United States. He was introduced into the Basketball Hall of Fame, without having played in the NBA.

Kresimir spend his last years as an effective diplomat and statesman during a critical time in the history of his country.

The accomplishment that Kresimer would be most proud of, however, is that he is regarded as a great spiritual leader in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His Church’s President, Thomas S. Monson, Said: “I give him credit for being the magic key in the Lord’s hands to open Yugoslavia so those people could hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
