SHADOWPLAY

Sophie is drawn like a thread, propelled, to spend some time on Santorini to research Greek myths. There she meets and falls in love with Tom, a Greek-American post graduate student studying chimpanzee behaviour on the uninhabited island of
Mavronisi. Tom is appalled by the discovery of outside interference with the chimps, which are exhibiting unusually threatening behaviour. At the same time his deepening relationship with Sophie is being undermined by her meeting with wealthy local businessman and councillor, Georgios Vasiliou. She is shocked by the disturbing effect he has on her. An ancient play continues to unfold, but this time the light of meaning can emerge from the dark descent.
