This is the complete story of Baby X, Book One, Book Two, and Book Three. The little girl vanished from the custody of her assumed grandmother, Miss Bunnybun. The old wicked foster grandmother claims that two men from DCF picked the child up from her home. The child welfare organization says it never happened. Bella, the social worker on the case had not checked on the child for almost two years. No one appears to know where she is or what happened to her. An overzealous Detective Sgt. Kanton is on the case. He does not like black people. He swears to nail the grandmother and her associates and to discover what happened to the child.
Miss Bunnybun holds into her claim that DCF has Baby X. She is arrested, prosecuted, and condemned to a life sentence for aggravated abuse. But, Sergeant Kanton and the prosecution want murder, even though they cannot prove the foster grandmother killed the child. They get a big break. Manti Bugg, a lover of the inmate grandmother in the prison, offers to testify that her friend murdered the child and fed her to alligators in the Everglades. What law enforcement don’t know, is that the two inmates fabricated the scheme to play with the judiciary system. Manti Bugg recants her story at about the time to present her testimony.
A young female Detective Miamia thinks she could do better than her nemesis Sergeant Kanton and would not allow the case to go cold like that. She finds herself doing no better. Her lead that the child might have been picked up for body parts turns out empty. She clashes with Professor Agaman who has gone into a platonic romance with the imprisoned grandmother to unveil the mystery. The Professor has discovered what he believes to be a plot of voodoo and high crime. The problem for him is to explain to Detective Miamia the Vodou/voodoo sphere of the mystery that makes it impossible for her to locate the perpetrators and prosecute them.
