Expiration Date: A Short Story

What if you knew how much time you had left to live? What would you do if you knew you had only five years left on earth? Not a short three to six months like most illnesses. But five years.

Kurt Bruskly, a 35-year-old single business tycoon has it all. Good looks. Loads of money. A beautiful beach-front home. Close friends. He had the love and devotion of a beautiful woman. All a man could want in life, except time.

Kurt’s doctors have informed him that his auto-immune disease will overtake him in five years.

What should he do with the remainder of his life? Travel? Spend time with friends? Kurt enlists the help of his good buddies to help him craft a list--a Grand Five Year Plan--of activities and events to take him through his remaining five years of life.

But as the saying goes, “the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.” Will concise planning prevail?
