BERTHA GIFFORD: THE ANGEL OF DEATH
Bertha, a farmer’s wife in Missouri U.S, was known in her community for her culinary skills and as a good Samaritan for her nursing skills and willingness to attend to the sick. However, as more and more of those she helped died, suspicions arose as to her nursing skills.
Although only charged with three murders, it is believed that over a period of 21 years, she murdered at least seventeen people.
