This volume contains seven novels by american writer Alice Duer Miller. Descendant of one of the signers of the American constitution, in the early 20th century she became known as a campaigner for women's suffrage and published a brilliant series of satirical poems in the New York Tribune.

Her success as a novelist came with the first novel in this collection, Come Out of the Kitchen, that was later made into a movie, as were many of ther other works.
