Philip Nwadike, a highly ambitious husband, believed deeply that his substantial dream of becoming wealthy lies within the realms of politics. In fact, he was deeply rooted in this belief that he pushed aside his son’s desire to go to school and got rid of his seven-month’s pregnant wife ---the two liabilities that stood between him and infinite riches.
Disregarding the admonitions of his brother Ejike, he teamed up with Amazu Ifemena without knowing that the political wit that attracted him to a willy Amazu was interwoven with grudges and a long drawn lingering lust for personal vendetta. Eventually, his vision became blurred by the very strength that sprouted it. As a consequence, his aspirations got tangled up in a messy knot that soon turned him from a predator of destiny to a vulnerable prey of desires ---that of his own political comrades.
Unable to turn back the hands of time, he was left to surrender to the inevitable truth that big dreams should never take precedence over the little aspects of life that matter most. For that’s when his dreams turned into a nightmare to taunt and haunt him for the rest of his life.
