The Secret Garden: a Fantasy Short Story

Sergeant Child is just another soldier in Iraq, until her transport is ripped apart by a roadside bomb and she sees a fairy creature hovering over her.

The next day she’s enlisted into a special operation: accompanying the fairy while it spies for the United States Army. Soon she’s shuttling from one dangerous location to the next, all the while growing closer to Tak.

But Child soon learns the fairy world is just as dangerous as the real one.

This short story explores the relationship between the combatants of two parallel—and disparate—wars.
