Cheryl Douglass, a retired special education teacher, lost both hands and feet to amputation following a life-threatening blood infection in 2008. This book begins with the story of Cheryl's personal struggle with limb loss and how through cooking she wins back an independent life-style. Her book features valuable time-saving cooking techniques and delicious recipes that anyone - including beginning cooks and amputees - can follow to prepare good meals for friends and family. Cheryl shows how cooking can be made so simple that it can even be done with electric prosthetic hands.
Cheryl was the 2010 recipient of the National Rehabilitation Hospital's annual Victory Award for "exceptional strength and courage in the face of physical adversity."
