Shawn Jaffe receives a cryptic warning from a stranger: "they're watching you." He dismisses it as the delusional ravings of a madman until the stranger winds up on the wrong side of a bullet.
Veteran NYC Detective Sam Harrington is assigned to the case. Shawn is determined to find out who's watching him and why, but after he disappears, it's up to Sam to figure out what the hell is going on. But that's no easy task.
Although Shawn doesn't realize it, he isn't who he thinks he is, and nothing is what it seems.
