The Pigeon

Set in the near future, in a world desperately concerned with conserving its resources, The Pigeon tells the story of the breakthrough invention of its time: The Rocket - a passenger train that runs solely on kinetic energy, the energy created by the nine million people living and working in New York City.

With little going for him in London, Stephen Arnold jumps at the chance to work in New York for Kinesis - the company responsible for the technology behind The Rocket.

As a Sweeper, Collector or ‘Pigeon’, Stephen’s job is to pick up and drop off classified cases at selected train stations around the city. Cases he is instructed never to open.

Over time, Stephen develops a growing sense of unease with these cases and when strange things begin to happen he takes it upon himself to investigate Kinesis, leading him down a very dark and dangerous path.

Before he knows it, Stephen is up to his neck in a world of suspicion, lies and double cross. And, with not a single person he can trust, he must find out what the company are up to before they make him the next Pigeon to disappear.
