I watched the sunset in Villefranche, sat in the stands at the Grand Prix in Monaco and swam in the flat, calm sea in Antibes. Life here was just so good! I wanted to live in an apartment with all my friends, go out every night, and take the train to a new town every day. The sun never seemed to stop shining and I had never seen such calm water in my life. All the people I met were so happy and excited about life and I loved it!

The next thing I knew, I was back in Durbs……..

One year later I had saved up enough money to book my flight back to France, completed my yachting courses, and together with my best friend and boyfriend were ready! What an exciting adventure it would turn out to be.

After being asked many, many, MANY times by friends and their friends on how I got started in the yachting industry, I realized that I wasn’t the only person interested in doing it, which is why I deemed it necessary to write a book on the subject specifically for SOUTH AFRICANS.
