A mysterious canister is discovered by a mining crew on the surface of Mars. An analysis finds that it's full of volatile, quickly-mutating bacteria that suddenly escape the lab and cripple the community within an hour. Only a lucky maintenance worker is left alive. She travels the community's many stations in search of survivors and finds them, but there's one problem: none of them are older than Eight.
