Love Refound

This is a story about one of my old friends from the Viet Nam era. He’s passed away recently from a sudden stroke but about a year before he passed, he was kind enough to tell me his life’s pilgrimage. Of course, it is an honor to retell the story of this brave veteran who put his life at risk many times for his country. It was not his fault that the war in Southeast Asia turned out to be a tragic mistake.

Naturally, the names and places have been changed to protect individual confidentiality per his request. There are places where he seems to be a bit confused as to the actual time frame of events. However, the power of his story is in the very human, direct truth of his experiences. Again it was a privilege to have been able to preserve his story for the future.
