John Wayne Gacy was one of the most vicious serial killers in US criminal history.
Born in Chicago in 1942, Gacy was abused by his father as he was growing up, and was troubled by his suppressed sexuality. First convicted of sexual assault in 1968, on his released from prison he would go on to kill 33 young men, concealing most of the bodies under his home. Sentenced to death in 1980, he was given multiple death sentences, and was eventually executed by lethal injection in 1994.
