Exile at Home

Book two in the Exile series begins two years after the previous book with Sapphire and Kingfish’s wedding in Florida, and then backtracks all the way back to where they left off on the Veranda in lavender France with the Funk Epistles. Back to Jamaica and another band dead, back to Charlottesville where the “Band on the Run” was born and Kingfish wrote “The Sapphire Rose Symphony” and Sapphire became a bold oil painter, back to Aix-en-Provence where it all began and ended when Andy went into the belly of the beast on a final Funk finance mission and disappeared. “Why did he just surrender, give up the ghost and never return to the Exile Band in France?” Hard to say. Sapphire and Kingfish stayed for another six months, living and keeping the dream alive. “The rhapsodic experience of France has only confirmed my vocation to know, love and serve as a living artist.” Then it was time to go, time to head west, take the road home “to another open college town that welcomed talented prodigals who brought along hidden treasures of dreams, love and song.” How they eventually arrive in Gainesville is where book two begins as the Exile saga rolls along...
