Jake Masters, Bounty Hunter 3: The Gambler

More western action in Book 3
Jake is living a peaceful and prosperous life after his last adventure resulted in an unexpected windfall, that is until he crosses paths with a young rancher. The man is on the trial of wily murderer, a man who ruthlessly ambushed and killed the rancher's brother. Jake can't refuse to help, not when the villain is cutting a swath of misery a mile wide through the frontier, and commands a bounty of over three thousand dollars.

But this killer is a savvy outlaw, changing his name and looks at whim to elude his pursuers and his wicked past. In the guise of a professional gambler, he heads for a big city, St. Louis. With it's rough crowds and dock gangs, the gambler can blend in with the city's criminal element. This time Jake is pitting his wits and skill against an outlaw the likes of which he has never chased before, and if fate and luck turn against him this might be the last man hunt he ever takes.
