His Name Is Wonderful: The Hebrew Names of God

This exploration of Scripture focuses on the Hebrew names of God. In today’s culture names generally don’t mean much. Parents may name their child for a pop star, a fictitious character in a movie or a rich relative. Some invent a name for uniqueness and the child spends his life having to spell it for everyone. By contrast, names in the Bible held deep significance. In this study we discover that God has many, many names. Why is that so? The answer is what one name could adequately describe our God and His greatness? What one name could encompass all His unique attributes? He’s way too grand, too great, too glorious, and too awesome for His Person to be defined by any single name. Therefore, we find many names for God in the Bible. Even the order in which the various names are revealed is significant. Each name represents a different facet of His unfathomable personality. Each name reveals another aspect of His beautiful character.
