Amity Mason was your average kid growing up; born in the small town of Bryan, Texas. From good grades to the class president, she was as far from rebellious as you could get being an only child. Her future had pretty much been laid out for her; simple, normal, somewhat boring but perfect for her nonetheless. Go to college, become a nurse, get married, have babies, a white picket fence; the whole nine yards.

Except, her downfall was falling for her life long best friend the moment he came home from college for the summer. With an obligation to make sure Declan didn't sideline his dreams for her, she packed her things and headed East leaving him heartbroken in her wake. That was seven years ago.

Now she finds herself in front of the hate filled fists of current beau, Brody Jensen, in order to protect her secrets. With nothing else left of her pride she runs to the arms of her past and faces the possibility of everyone finding out what she's been hiding. Not only is she returning with more secrets than she left with but also Brody hot on her heels. Declan's persistence finally forces her to admit the truth and face the current situation head on.
