Description

Carmine Galante inherited the Boss of Bosses title from Carlo Gambino when he died in the fall of 1976. Galante was a lynchpin of the narcotics ring started by Charle Lucky Luciano. My e-book details many of the trials and accusations that surrounded Galante's very public criminal career, from the 1940s until the late 1970s. There is a section about the assassination of Carlo Tresca, an anti-Fascist Italian labor organizer who was shot and killed as he left his 5th Avenue office in 1943. Galante was held as a material witness in this killing and he may have been the trigger man. Much of the book deals with Galante as a narcotics dealer and his imprisonment soon after the 1957 Apalachin meeting. Finally there are details about the murders of Carmine Galante and two others while they were eating at a Brooklyn Italian restaurant on July 12, 1979.
