Abdul is in town for an entirely different reason…

Randy’s flashlight streamed through the hazy interior of the cargo hold, catching a figure in the center of its disk. Both Randy and his fellow thief Kevin instantly stopped, paralyzed in their tracks. They gaped in astonishment at the scene before them.

Sitting in front of a large wooden crate on a fold-out chair was a small, wretched-looking man with a shocked expression of his own. In his left ear he wore an earplug connected by a wire to a radio in his lap. Over his right ear he sported a penlight that was not burning. But it was what he held in his right hand that attracted Kevin’s attention. It was some sort of hand-grip device to which the man was applying pressure. Worse, a thin cable ran from the device to the crate itself.

Unsure of what was happening and feeling trapped, Kevin gave in to his most basic instincts, which were screaming at him to do the only thing that seemed to make any sense under the circumstances: he rushed the man.

And Abdul let go...
