Tom Peterson has a few problems. He get’s passed up for a promotion at work, he has trouble communicating with his wife, and the most troubling of all: he hears a dark, malicious voice inside his head that he can’t seem to shut up.
Tom decides to see a psychiatrist and is diagnosed with schizophrenia. His doctor suggests that he join a support group as he undergoes treatment for his condition. There’s only one problem: There Tom meets a man that has a voice identical to the one in his head.

“Yeah. You’re in the right place.”
The blood runs from my face. That voice. I would recognize it anywhere. This man has the exact voice as the one that has been torturing me inside my head.
“You’re… you’re…”
“Right. I’m glad you understand. You may be dumb but you’re not stupid.” The man folds his magazine. “Listen pal, do you think I like this? Do you think this is fun for me? I have better things to do. If you knew what’s good for you you’d listen to me.”
He leans closer.
“Are you listening?”
I nod my head.
