A Concept for a New Type of Propeller & Jet Engine

This book contains the author’s concept proposal for:

• a new type of propeller, called the ‘Barrel Propeller’, for the propulsion of ships, aircraft, underwater vehicles and such like.

• a new type of Jet Engine, called the ‘Barrel Jet’, that uses a ‘Barrel Propeller’ as its inlet compressor.

Both these proposals are covered under UK Patent application no. GB1416639.1 dated 19th September 2014, which was openly published in the 23rd March 2016 edition of the UK Patents’ Journal under Publication reference GB2530324.

Potential applications of the concept include:

• Propulsion of Ships & Subsea Vehicles;
• Waterjet Propulsion of Marine Craft;
• Propulsion of Helicopters, Aeroplanes & Unmanned Drones.
