This romance short story will focus on two characters, Kate and Evan. They went to high school together, but ran in different social circles and didn’t keep in touch. Later in life, Kate is desperate for a date to another high school friend’s wedding—the invitation specifically states that everyone has to bring a date. After having a string of failed relationships, Kate doesn’t just want a date—she wants romance, love, and excitement. Her roommate, Megan, wants to set her up on a blind date, and she reluctantly agrees. By chance, she reconnects with Evan on Facebook, and when he jokingly proposes attending the wedding together, she takes him up on it and they begin an online correspondence which leads to Kate falling in love before she even sees him again. However, on the morning of the wedding, everything goes wrong and Kate is devastated. Their meeting was nothing like the one she had planned, and it’s all up to Evan to turn it around.
