This book is a compilation of a lot of my grandmother’s recipes that have been handed down from generation to generation.
Some of the recipes are from my friends at office, people close to me living near my house and even from school and college friends.
We all have old diaries especially people of my generation, which is 60 plus. We paste recipes in these diaries. Some of them are hand written, some type written and some are pasted on.
It was my decision to begin with sauces, pickles, chutneys as that is what adds spice and fun to food.
The other recipes like starters, main courses and side dishes are in the process of being written and will come out next. I hope it will be as much fun for readers as it is for me to compile and write these recipes.
Some of the recipes have been given to me by my husband who used to love to cook. His special recipe is the instant green chilli pickle that we can make in 10 minutes or less and keep it in the fridge for storing.
Homemade pickles, chutneys and sauces are best because we know that we are using the best and most fresh ingredients, which are very fresh and of course, no preservatives are used.
So please enjoy the book and let me know what more you would want me to add in the second edition as well as any particular recipes you would like to see in the various other books I am bringing out, like soups and starters, main course and side dishes, drinks and desserts and recipes from different lands.
