Dreams have become nightmares for Elizabeth Laurie. Now divorced and working as a reporter for Coastal Reports magazine, she can’t stop thinking about her high school love. Pete Garrett died far too young in a fiery car accident. Happens all the time on the busy Los Angeles freeways, just as it happened to her parents.

On assignment Liz interviews Hollywood producer Sheldon Greer and becomes convinced that it was he who had Pete murdered. The tangled mystery is stranger than any nightmare she has yet had. She sets out to prove that Greer is guilty, not thinking that Greer might have other means of settling scores. Threats, kidnapping, and love all converge to separate fantasy from reality.
