Matcha Facts, Tips and Hints
-Always sift powder before mixing to avoid clumping.
-Use the Bamboo Scoop (Chashaku) to push the matcha powder through the Sifter.
-Clean the Scoop with a dry cloth.
-Matcha should not be made with boiling water.
-The ideal water temperature for matcha is around 175F/80C or just under a boil.
-Moisten the tines of the Bamboo Whisk with warm water before use. The bamboo knot and tines will begin to open.
-Take care not to apply too much downward force while whisking, as this damages the tines.
-Add 2 oz of warm water to sifted matcha in a bowl and briskly whisk in a zig-zag motion to achieve a creamy froth.
-Rinse Whisk under warm water and let air dry on your Whisk Holder (Chasen Tate).
-Never put a wet whisk back into the plastic container as mold may develop.
-Matcha does not dissolve, therefore it is best consumed immediately after preparation.
