Game Design (Merit Badge Series)

This new merit badge rewards Scouts for creativity, strategy... and fun! Earning this merit badge allows Scouts to focus on one (or more) of these types of games: Electronic-games for computers, game systems, or mobile devices Outdoor/Athletic-sports or games (i.e. "Capture the Flag") Tabletop-dice-based, board or card games Pen-and-Paper or Role-Playing games Variety in game choice is designed to reach many Scouts with varying interests. It appeals to the tech-savvy Scout while also keeping this merit badge accessible for Scouts who don't have reliable access to a computer. In addition to creating and testing an actual, playable game, Scouts will also learn how to think critically, what makes games fun, important game terms, how to design and implement rules, problem solving, and more.
