In mallet finger the extensor tendon gets damaged which results in abnormally flexed DIP joint or finger deformity. The mallet finger splint supports the distal inter-phalangeal joint in an extended position which promotes the healing of terminal extensor tendon. At the same time facilitates the free movement of proximal inter-phalangeal joint (PIP). It has Ethafoam padded aluminium coated body; the splint can be bent for required comfortable immobilization.
