Do you know how hard it is to blend into the background when you have been deemed a genius? Never thinking you would be more than the half-breed, unloved, fat girl your mom, sister, and even people who don’t know you said you would be.
This is what 16-year-old college freshman Kenji ‘Lil’Bit’ Winters have been trying to do since taking the I.Q. test that placed her in the same category as Sir Isaac Newton. Kenji must deal with a lot from the way she looks, to the verbal, emotional, and sometimes physical abuse she must deal with at home. Also dealing with health issues that begins to take a toll on her body, mind, and spirit. She has her best friend Emerald ‘Red’ Thomas who is her backbone and is there for her rather it’s with her sarcastic wit or beat a bitch mentality she’s always there for her girl. Then there’s Ty ‘Black’ Washington who becomes her male best friend, protector, and a shoulder to cry on. The more time he’s around her, protecting her, admiring her, and spending time with her he begins to wonder can he love her through her pain!
