Description

This book busts the mystery about the Hindu Sadhu or Fakir who incited the 1857 Revolt which came to be called the First War of Independence. This revolt shook the very foundation of the East India Company rule in India, and started the independence movement in India in right earnest. Several thousand people died fighting against the British, and the British were at their ruthless best in suppressing the Indians. We have ascertained the contribution of the Hindu Sadhu, who provoked the revolt, through a thorough and intensive research, both inductive and deductive, over a period of three years and have included evidence which establish the fact that this Sadhu was none other than Swami Dayanand, the legendary leader who went on to set up the Arya Samaj. This book will put to rest all speculations about the identity of the Sadhu. The book proceeds to also find the contributions of Mangal Pande, Nana Saheb Peshwa and other revolutionaries in the ensuing revolution.
