Anna at Appleton Farm: spanked girls of yesteryear

Set in England during the Second World War, this book tells the story of Anna, a fourteen-year-old evacuee from London who spends the war years at Appleton Farm. Anna and Maisie, another evacuee, are befriended by Mrs Appleton who immediately helps them feel at home. However, life in the country is very different from London life - there are spankings for a start! Spankings, it seems, are part of daily life here. Anna witnesses Mrs Appleton's daughters go over the maternal lap for a bare bottom roasting, and it isn't long before she herself has the same experience. But such spankings are always performed with the best of intent and followed by a hug... unlike those dispensed by Beryl the school prefect and Miss Johnson the mean headmistress. Fortunately for Anna, her spell at the local school is brief, and she is soon free to help out on the farm, doing her bit for the war effort. She earns more spankings along the way, yet her life is enriched by being part of a new, close-knit family. Sore bottoms fade but friendships and bonds are forged which will last a lifetime. This is the first book in the Spanked Girls of Yesteryear series, a collection encapsulating a certain innocence and naivete which no longer exists in the modern world.
