Although this textbook is primarily used in the assessment course, it also serves as a professional reference for in-service teachers. Many who graduated from our university s teacher preparation program find the textbook particularly helpful in the assessment of their students in authentic classroom environments.The chapters in this textbook are sequential and each theory is followed by a number of examples to help students better understand how assessment theory applies to assessment practice. This textbook is also very user-friendly. The content is written in a straightforward manner. It is easy to read and comprehend, and well-organized, with chapter outlines and subheading formatting. At the end of each chapter, there is a transitional statement that links the current chapter with the next chapter in the textbook.
