Information Control Problems in Manufacturing 2001 (IFAC Proceedings Volumes)

The purpose of this Symposium was to highlight international research and developments on advanced information technologies used to integrate manufacturing systems, with reference to the product system, the technical system, the human system and relationships. Particular objectives of the Symposium were to consider industrial engineering in general, and to federate the different concepts, theories, methodologies, methods, models, languages and tools - usually separately applied to process systems, discrete object systems and intelligent manufacturing systems.

Contributions cover the whole field of information techniques applied to manufacturing processes starting with the classical subjects - computer integrated manufacturing; flexible manufacturing systems; human machine interfaces - to more advanced topics like intelligent manufacturing systems and equipment, information technology for integration in manufacturing and multi-agent systems. The volume covers many necessary topics for an efficient application of information techniques in manufacturing automation. There are also contributions on related topics like logistics for manufacturing systems, emerging technologies for advanced manufacturing and more business oriented topics like technical management for enterprise business integration and production integrated systems engineering.
