The Penguin Guide to Compact Discs (1996)

This is a comprehensive survey of classical music recordings on CD. It lists the major recordings of each work alphabetically by composer, and provides an assessment of the quality and interpretation of the work, to offer advice on the best value for money. The guide also includes re-mastered vintage recordings and many historic performances now transferred to CD.
