The Thoughtful Reader

The Second Edition of The Thoughtful Reader continues the approach established in the groundbreaking first edition, based on a psycholinguistic view of reading and on the belief that students do not read well because they have not read rather than because they cannot read. The thematic organization of this reading text allows teachers and students to approach the topics with an awareness of the basic concepts and issues to be addressed in each chapter. No chapter requires knowledge of previous sections in order to complete the exercises or reading assignments.
