This work contains 53 case studies which illustrate and examine situations in which communication problems arise between the doctor and the patient. The chapters first describe a specific doctor-patient dialogue, then go on to pose questions germane to the situation and finally offer suggested strategies and techniques for a more successful interaction. All the studies are actual cases, taken from the clinical practices of many contributing physicians. The book is divided into seven categories, each including similar cases.
